Opened in 2001 this 390,000 sq ft mixed use scheme in Wharfside Street is a redevelopment of a former Royal Mail sorting office, now anchored by Harvey Nichols. The Cube is almost half constructed in 2009 with iconic apartments, Offices, waterside cafe bars and Birminghams first boutique hotel with panoramic rooftop restaurant. Principal tenants include Harvey Nichols, Emporio Armani, DKNY, Thomas Pink, Hugo Boss, Jaeger and Gieves and Hawks and in 2007 Harvey Nichols substantially increased their floor area by some 40% off the back of a very strong trading performance. In addition to two levels of high quality retail at The Mailbox, there are also some 20 restaurants and bars centred around Birmingham’s only canal side eating venue and including operators such as Strada, Carluccio’s, GBK, Zizzi, Pizza Express, Café Rouge and Bar Ha Ha in what has now become the prime restaurant pitch in Birmingham.
