The site is located between Junction 5 and 6 of the M6 motorway, approximately 3 miles to the north east of Birmingham City Centre. Junctions 5 and 6 themselves are both within 1.5 miles of the site. Wood Lane is located off Bromford Lane just to the north of Fort Parkway which forms part of the Heartlands Spine Road route. Alternative access to the site is via Tyburn Road (A38).
